Since we are not able to meet in person this year for the 2020 NMEA Student Conference, we are going virtual. We are still getting the specifics together, but we are happy to announce that we will hold a virtual opportunity for students on Thursday, July 16th from 8:00–11:00am Hawai'i Time / 11:00am–2:00pm Pacific Time / 2:00–5:00pm Eastern Time. The conference will include a special invited speaker, an opportunity for students to present projects they have worked on, a career panel, and opportunities for us to all collaborate and network. The conference will not have a registration fee, and it is open to all full time students who are at least 13 years old. More details will be shared as they are confirmed. We hope you are able to join us.
We are excited to have confirmed our Invited Speaker, Kalani Quiocho: Graduate student at University of Hawaii and cultural advisor for the Papahānaumokuākea National Monument. Read Kalani’s story at Ocean Witness.
Registration for the 2020 Virtual Student Conference is open. It is free, and NMEA membership is not required. Feel free to share this information with any students, ages 13 and up, who may be interested in participating in the virtual conference.
